The design of the Saurines golf course is similar to the desert golf courses of Las Vegas or Arizona, both designed by Jack Nicklaus, but with the philosophy of connected holes. The course is known for its undulating fairways, between sand dunes and impressive greens, few bunkers and a large central lake.

The greens at Saurines are the best in the area. Most of them are uphill from the fairway, which adds to the difficulty. The course is ranked 39th of the best golf courses in Spain, classified by "Top 100 Golf Courses".

It has become a benchmark in the area since its inauguration in 2011.
